Freight/Oversize Shipments
Freight/LTL shipping quotes are calculated based on delivery to commercial addresses. This means that the property must be commercially zoned and have official business hours of operations. If you do not have a business address and you have already purchased a Freight or Oversized item then we will contact you with an updated shipping charge that must be paid for delivery. If you have not purchased yet and would like a shipping quote to a non commercial address, we are more than happy to help!
When a Freight shipment arrives do not sign the delivery receipt before you have fully inspected the package and have marked down the exceptions and damages on the receipt if they apply. If a Freight shipment does arrive and is damaged, we can not help you if you did not sign for it as damaged and clearly note it on the delivery receipt.
Upon delivery of the shipment, if you do not have the ability and/or equipment to unload your product the freight carrier may ask if you would like to have them unload the product with a lift gate or other methods. Any additional services requested such as this may incur an additional fee charged to the customer by the freight carrier and Advanced Truck Parts is not responsible for such charges. The decision to accept these charges lies solely with the delivery recipient.
Free Shipping Promotions
All Free Shipping items will ship either USPS or UPS and will have a 3 to 7 day transit time. For any products or promo codes that offer Free Shipping on orders or individual parts, the Free Shipping only applies to the contiguous 48 United States. For all other ship to locations, an accurate shipping quote must be calculated and paid. Free Shipping also does not apply to oversized or freight items unless specifically stated and a commercial zone address is required.
Canada Shipments
Applicable for Ground Shipments Only - Canada Customs requires Canadian recipients to pay applicable duties and taxes on each shipment entering Canada. These charges may include POST, GST, HST, duties and other taxes of goods. A brokerage fee may also be charged to process shipments and present the requisite customs paperwork to Canada Customs on the importer's behalf. In some cases, orders may be sent in multiple shipments and can incur additional brokerage charges imposed by Canada Customs. The customer is responsible for brokerage fees, POST, GST, HST, duties and other taxes of goods that are imposed by shipping companies or Canada Customs. In the event the customer refuses to pay those fees, Advanced Truck Parts may be forced to abandon the product at the Canadian border. In that case, the customer will receive no refund back because the product will be lost. *Note - No additional taxes or duties are due for Freight/LTL shipments
International Shipments
At Advanced Truck Parts we are proud to provide international shipping! We have a very experienced team of people here to help our international customers receive their parts quickly and at very affordable rates!
If you are trying to place an order and our website says that we can not ship to your location please contact us at john@advancedtruckparts.com so that we can give you a custom shipping quote. Once you contact us at john@advancedtruckparts.com we will respond quickly with an accurate shipping quote as long as you provide a full physical address with postal code. In some cases our website may quote and charge you the wrong amount for shipping and if this occurs you will be contacted for additional payment. While we do our best to have our website calculate accurate shipping quotes, in dealing with international shipments this is difficult and sometimes our team has to calculate the correct shipping rate manually.
International customers are responsible for any duties, taxes, custom charges or currency exchange fees that their shipment may incur during transit. In the case of a shipment being refused, all transit charges will be deducted from the customer’s refund.
Damaged Shipments
In the event your product is damaged in transit please contact us at 1-877-795-0656 immediately. All damages must be reported within 24-48 hours of receiving your package. If a shipment arrives at your doorstep and is clearly damaged make sure to take pictures as these will help expedite the return process. All warranty claims and damaged items claims need to be handled through Advanced Truck Parts. Do not contact the manufacturer of the product directly as they will not be able to assist you in receiving a new item. Please do not attempt to install the part as this will void any replacement options or claims.
Refused Shipments
You reserve the right to refuse a shipment should you change your mind and decide to return the product. Please contact us ahead of time if you plan to do this so we can set up the appropriate return information in the system. If a shipment is refused upon delivery, then Advanced Truck Parts will deduct the cost of the return shipping from your refund in addition to the initial shipping charge. If the item is damaged upon arrival or defective then we will take full responsibility for the cost of shipping.
Shipping
We are now shipping internationally! All shipping rates will be calculated, and thus, will vary depending on the shipping location. All shipping rates are calculated based the cost of both the shipping and handling required to send your item.
Once you have placed your order by purchasing an item, it generally takes 1 to 3 business days to process your transaction and get your product on its way to you. The package then spends another 3 to 10 days in transit (or possibly longer in international shipping situations). Thus, you can expect your order to be delivered between 4 to 14 days from when we receive payment for your item.
We cannot ship to PO Boxes!!! Before purchasing our item(s), please make sure that either (1) your Paypal account has a confirmed physical address, or (2) you personally supply us with a sufficient physical address to ship to.
Out of Stock
It is our desire to always have every listed item actively in stock. Occasionally, due to high demand we may be temporarily out of stock on an item. If this happens you will be notified and given the option to either cancel for a full refund or wait for the part to come in (typically 3-14 days).

WABCO is a leading manufacturer of air brake components, and their air compressors are widely used on commercial vehicles around the world.
A WABCO air compressor’s purpose is to provide and maintain air under pressure for the vehicle’s brake system and any other pneumatic devices.
A failing WABCO compressor will show symptoms similar to others, though one might pay attention to a couple of WABCO specifics.
Slow air build and low maximum pressure are primary signs – if the system can’t reach the typical 120–130 psi and instead plateaus lower (say 90 or 100 psi), the compressor could have leaking valves or excessive wear.
WABCO is a leading manufacturer of air brake components, and their air compressors are widely used on commercial vehicles around the world. A WABCO air compressor’s purpose is to provide and maintain air under pressure for the vehicle’s brake system and any other pneumatic devices. WABCO compressors come in various models – for example, the WABCO System Saver 318 (commonly found on some Mack and Volvo engines) or the WABCO 412/318 series on Freightliner and others. These can be single-cylinder or twin-cylinder designs. Regardless of type, when the engine is running, the WABCO compressor is constantly driven and will load (pump air) or unload as directed by the air pressure governor. It feeds the air tanks that supply the service brakes, emergency brakes, and often things like air suspension, exhaust brakes, and cab controls. Many WABCO compressors integrate features like an integral safety relief valve in the head (to prevent overpressure) and an efficient head design for cooling. In essence, the WABCO compressor is a workhorse that ensures a consistent air supply, which is fundamental for the safe operation of air brakes. Their reliability and design (like the “System Saver” series aimed at reducing oil carryover and extending maintenance intervals) underline that purpose of keeping the vehicle’s pneumatic system healthy and pressurized.
WABCO’s System Saver compressors are known for reliability, so a sudden inability to build pressure could also be due to a failed governor or unloader rather than the pump itself; however, you’d still experience the same symptom of not reaching cut-out.
Frequent air dryer purging is another clue – if the dryer (or the built-in purge system on some WABCO air dryers) is going off constantly, it may indicate the compressor never truly unloads or that there’s a leak causing it to cycle.
One specific symptom on WABCO-equipped systems is excessive oil carryover.
WABCO compressors are designed to minimize oil passing, but as rings wear, oil can get into the air.
When installing a WABCO compressor, following the manufacturer’s guidelines (often found in WABCO Maintenance Manuals) will ensure longevity. Preparation: Before installation, inspect the new (or reman) compressor – pour a little clean engine oil into the crankcase or intake and turn it by hand to pre-lube it. Confirm that the mounting flange and gear match the old unit. If it’s a “through-drive” compressor (e.g., System Saver 318 on a Mack with a steering pump drive), verify the rear accessory drive is configured correctly (some WABCO models come with a plate if no accessory is driven, or a coupling if it is). Clean the engine mounting surface. Install any locating dowels if they came out with the old unit. Use a new gasket and/or O-rings per WABCO specs. Many WABCO compressors are water-cooled and have O-rings for coolant and oil ports – those must be in place. Torque the flange bolts evenly and to spec (usually something like 35–50 ft-lbs, but refer to manual). Hook up the intake – if the compressor has its own air filter, ensure it’s clean; if it shares the engine intake, make sure the piping is tight. Importantly, WABCO often advises to check the inlet line and filter because a restricted intake (clogged filter) can cause compressor overheating and high oil consumption. Connect the discharge line; on WABCO units, pay attention to the discharge fitting orientation. Some WABCO compressors have a thread-in discharge adapter – use the correct one (from the old compressor if needed) with fresh thread sealant. Ensure the discharge line has a good support/bracket, as vibrations can fatigue it. Cooling Lines: Connect coolant hoses. On a WABCO like the SS318, minimum hose ID is specified (3/8″ ID minimum) – verify your hoses are not undersized or kinked. Air pockets are a killer, so after installation, bleed air from a high point or run the engine with the radiator cap off to purge any air from the compressor jacket. Governor/Unloader: Most WABCO compressors use an external governor (like the Bendix D-2 governor or a frame-mounted module). Reconnect the small bore control line to the compressor’s unloader port. If the compressor is a newer design with an integral governor mounting pad (some have the governor mounted directly to the compressor), make sure to install the governor with a new gasket and orient any bleed holes correctly (some governors have a small vent that must not be blocked). Unloader mechanism: If you had the compressor head off or are overhauling it, replace the unloader valve kit and make sure it’s correctly assembled – a misassembled unloader can cause either constant pumping or constant unloading. Confirm the safety valve is installed on the compressor head (if it uses one) and is the correct pressure rating. Do not swap it with a higher-pressure one – always stick to recommended value (typically 250 psi). Final Checks: After everything is hooked up, refill engine oil if needed (some oil may have leaked out on removal). Start the engine and let it idle. Immediately check for leaks: look for coolant leaks at hose connections, and listen for any air leaks. WABCO compressors receiving engine oil will fill with oil shortly after startup – check the engine oil pressure to be sure it’s normal (a massive oil leak at the compressor could theoretically drop engine oil pressure). As the air pressure builds, note the cut-out – if it doesn’t cut out around the target (e.g. 120 psi), adjust the governor or check the unloader line. A newly installed WABCO compressor should be building pressure robustly; if the build time is still slow, there may be an issue elsewhere (air leak downstream or a faulty new unit). It’s wise to drain the air tanks after the first few hours of running to blow out any assembly debris or break-in wear particles. Given WABCO’s emphasis on system maintenance, also consider changing the air dryer filter and checking the operation of the air governor and dryer purge (some WABCO systems integrate governor control with the dryer). In summary, install the compressor with clean connections, ensure it’s cooled and lubricated properly, and adjust the control system to spec. Doing so will let the WABCO compressor live up to its “System Saver” name – delivering reliable air supply and longevity by working in harmony with the engine and the rest of the air system.
